Description
The workshops will focus on processing Next Gen. Sequencing data for microbiota identification of operational taxonomic units (OTUs) with the software mothur from Illumina platform data covering 16S rRNA gene sequences.
In this all day workshop with lecture and hands on exercises, participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of the Linux environment and a basic understanding of statistical methods.
Prerequisite:
The mothur software will be used via line command method.
Must be comfortable with the Linux command line (bash shell) and familiar with basic Linux commands.
The Linux Basic for NGS Data Analysis can provide training, or attend the Linux Essentials workshop. However, for this microbiota workshop this is only highly recommended, not required.
