Microbiota Analysis in R

Description

The workshop is “Part II” of the microbiota analysis. In “Part I” we processed 16S-derived data and classified reads in operational taxonomic units (OTUs) with the software mothur. We will now take the results and go over the statistical analysis with the software R on a Linux server platform

In this all day workshop with lecture and hands on exercises. Participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of the Linux environment and a basic understanding of statistical methods.

Prerequisite:

The R software will be used via line command method.
Must be comfortable with the Linux command line and familiar with basic Linux commands.

The Linux Basic for NGS Data Analysis can provide training, or attend the Linux Essentials workshop. However, for this microbiota workshop this is only highly recommended, not required.

* There is a minimal set of software that should be installed on laptops BEFORE attending the workshop. Instructions will be provided to attendees prior to the workshop and can be found within the PDF documenst: Preparation for R-based workshop
