Single Cell RNA-seq Data Analysis
Description
Important note: workshop spans 2 full days.
Join the UWBC Bioinformatics Research Center for a 2-day workshop covering the fundamentals of single-cell RNA-seq data analysis.
Learn how to turn raw data into biological insight with hands-on analysis of real datasets using one of the most popular scRNA-seq analysis packages: Seurat
for the R programming language. Other software options may be reviewed such as R-based Bioconductor and Python-based scanpy
module.
We will begin with tips for experimental design and an overview of single-cell technologies (e.g. Drop-seq, SMART-seq, SPLiT-Seq.)
We’ll then continue through a standard analysis workflow covering:
– quality control,
– visualization,
– integration,
– cell type identification, and
– differential expression.
At the end of this workshop, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to begin analyzing their own scRNA-seq data and pursue self-directed learning of more advanced analysis techniques.
To be prepared for this workshop, participants should have a working proficiency in R and a basic understanding of why we do single-cell experiments.
